We are a friendly group of believers. Our leaders have been volunteering in their communities for many years, and they bring with them the ability to lead, to inspire and to care for the needy without condescension or hidden agendas.
With over 50 years of volunteer experience among them, our leaders provide The Friendly Church with the inspiration and direction to keep us moving forward and growing.
Pastor Isreal Newman
Elder Israel Newman was called to ministry at the age of thirteen. Although
he was a child, he held on to the Word of the Lord that was spoken in Jeremiah
1:4-10. Along with his formal education, he has attended Christ Church
International Bible Institute and has graduated the course of Ministerial
Excellence and is currently taking a course of how to be an effective Under Rower.
Elder Newman believes in the Apostolic Doctrine and is a firm believer of the
old saying used by the Mothers of the church “If I fast I last and If I pray I
will stay”. Elder Newman currently serves as the Senior Pastor of the Friendly
Church. During Convention 2006, the Lord has given him the release to be
Consecrated and elevated to the office of Elder and installed as an Assistant
Pastor where he will serve for Friendly Church of the Apostolic where Bishop
Le'Roy Newman is Pastor and General Overseer. Minister Newman has served in
several capacities of the ministry over the last ten years which has thought
him the undying compassion and love that Christ has for his people which he is
determined to show forth every day. He walks in both the offices of evangelist
and teacher and is under a mandate from God to preach hope to the hopeless, encourage the down trodden and compel to all as long as they are still living "God Isn’t Through Yet". Elder Newman may not have a testimony from the streets or behind bars but he does have a testimony of with God all things are possible. One of his favorite saying is “A charge to Keep I have and a God to Glorify”.
